Success Through Forgiveness

January 23rd, 2012

Do you hold forgiveness only for those who ask for it? Do you usually find most people not worthy of your forgiveness? Hoarding forgiveness will sprout in your heart as a crippled seed yielding bitter fruit. Forgiveness only has value when it is given away. Forgiveness can dissipate anger and resentment. Holding onto anger and loosing sleep while you toss and turn thinking of the wrongs done you is very unproductive.
Greet each day with a forgiving heart. Forgive even those who do not ask for forgiveness. Don’t spend hours seething in anger because of some unthinking or uncaring person imagining revenge or confrontation. The offender seldom gives thought to his offense. By the act of forgiving, you are no longer consumed by unproductive thoughts. You have to give up the bitterness and be content in your soul and effective again with your fellowman. You must forgive those who criticize you unjustly.
A person who lives their life according to others is a slave. Do not be a slave. Know the difference between right and wrong and know what is right for your family. Don’t let misguided opinion or unjust criticism alter your course. People who are critical of your dreams and goals simply do not understand the higher purpose to which you have been called. Forgive their lack of vision and forge ahead. Criticism is the price paid for leaping past mediocrity.
Your greatest enemy can be yourself. Every mistake, every miscalculation, every stumble has been replayed again and again in your mind. Every day wasted and every broken promise even goals never reached compound the disgust you feel for the lack of achievement in your life. This dismay has a paralyzing grip. When you disappoint yourself you respond with inaction and become more disappointed.
It is impossible to fight the enemy in your head. By forgiving yourself you erase the doubts, fears and frustrations that keep your past in the present. Do not allow your history to control your destiny. Greet every day with a forgiving spirit.
