How To Beat The Ugly And Hairy Monster That’s Killing Your Dreams Silently

I just loooove that quote.

You see, I was having a VERY relaxing Sunday yesterday, but I said to myself: “Hey, what if I expand my knowledge about leadership today?…My team will keep growing once I understand more and more about this subject..”

So, the host of the recorded call that I started to listen, proceeded to have a very honest conversation with the audience and came to a subject that I love to talk about….The ugly and hairy monster that kills most people’s dreams in micro-seconds.

And by the way, he didn’t say it like that…I’m doing it.

I’ve heard many times from new people in my team something like this:

“So, I’m ready to rock ‘n roll and make $50,000 from home THIS month…How can I do that?”

I always tell them: “I know exactly how to do it, but it ain’t that simple. It requires certain actions that you must take in order to get there.”

Now, while I’m NOT gonna talk about those specific actions required for the task, I AM gonna tell you this:

Most don’t fail at it because it’s impossible (and it ain’t specially with the kind of Education I provide them with). They fail because of the ugly and hairy monster that kills most humans dreams.

That monster is: The fear of failure.

Period.

Sadly, we live in a society that makes fun of those who dream big and fail bigger and most care too much about that.

I mean…Can you even remember what was like when you made a mistake back in high school?

In most cases, your peers will laugh loud and your teacher will give you a BIG and ugly F while you would try to hide and run from there as quickly as possible.

Ridiculous.

As an Entrepreneur, I can honestly tell you that I learn 1,000,000 times more from my mistakes (notice that I haven’t used the F word) than from my successes.

The reason? Simple. When you make a mistake, you know by a fact, that the actions you just took, do NOT take you where you want to be…So, you are now forced to think differently.

I can’t remember where I saw this quote, but I love it:

“Fail fast…to succeed FASTER”

That’s it. In business and life it won’t matter how many times you failed to get where you want to get, as long as you do it.

So, the next time you face an obstacle that’s keeping you away from your dreams, do yourself a favor and ask (yourself) this: What is the lesson here? What actions did I just took to get here? What actions SHOULD I take to get the opposite way?

Believe me, things WILL change a LOT for you.

So DO it.

What Is It That You Really Want Out Of Life?

The Good Ole Days
Remember back when you were in grade school and summertime came? Remember how free you felt that you had 2 or 3 months to do pretty much anything you wanted with your time? Felt pretty good right?
Fast forward to today and look how much that has changed? Responsibilities kicked in, maybe a few kids, marriage and a career. Times have changed, haven’t they?

The Dream

I am going to bet that you had big dreams as a kid. Somewhere along the line the dreams that we once had become very distant to us. They elude us somehow. Why is this?
I will tell you why. You took your eyes off the prize and you settled. After settling you became very comfortable with the life you were or are living. But the question I have to ask is…..

You’re Comfort Level

Are you really comfortable? Or are you very uncomfortable?
You see, it takes being uncomfortable to get out of a comfortable situation. For most to break out of the RUT that they have dug for themselves, it’s going to take them being in a tight situation or hitting rock bottom.

What Do You Want?

For most people when I ask them, what they want out of life, the answers are pretty much the same. People want more time and more money. Now when I ask them if their current situation will afford them these two things, most, if not all of them tell me no.
You have to be very clear about what you want out of life or you will just spin your wheels until you wake up one day old and gray and ask, “What Happened?”
Why is it that people want more time and want more money but are unwilling to take chances in life to get it? There is never reward without risk and you can take a look back in time at all of the greatest minds of our time and the time before us and see that most if not all, had to overcome insurmountable odds to make things happen for them.

When Do You Want It?

The next step in reaching your goals and dreams is knowing when you want what you want. I know, that sounds funny right? You have to put a deadline on your goals or you will NEVER reach them. Have a specific date on the calendar. If you come up short when that date arrives, regroup and start again, learning from your mistakes.

Having The Right Vehicle

Having the right vehicle to get you to your financial, spiritual and personal goals is the step that most people botch from the get-go. If your goal is to make $20K per month but you only have a product in which pays you $10 per sale, how many of those do you have to move through your business to make that $20K a reality.
Most folks just spit out figures like that but yet have never made more than $5K a month. It’s silly.
If something sounds too good to be true, most likely it is. I see people getting wrapped up into all sorts of weird businesses. Cash gifting programs, ponzi schemes, forced matrixes. These are all created as delusions from the truth. If you can’t understand a compensation plan, it’s for a reason.

Being With The Right People

It is said that you become the sum total of the 5 people that you hang around with most. Isn’t that the truth? If you hang around with people that smoke, drink and cuss, most likely you will end up doing the same.
If you hang around with sharp, upwardly mobile people that are going places in life, guess what? You will probably do the same.
Association is everything in today’s day and time and I think it’s also a problem. If you’re in a rut, you need to change your surroundings. No one can do it except you. You are the master of your own destiny. Not me, not anyone else. Don’t blame your parents, teachers or friends for your shortcomings. Take responsibility for where you are in life and realize this: If you got yourself into a mess, you can surely get yourself out of it.

Continuing Your Education

Your income will always be determined by the amount of value that you bring to the table and that you offer the world around you. If you want to increase your income, you MUST increase your value. The only way is to be continually educating yourself.
You may say to yourself, how do I do that? Well, there are plenty of ways to do it. Start investing in yourself.
People NEVER depreciate in value, things do.
My suggestion is hooking up with a company that’s main focus is educating its members and has a top notch continuing education program.

Making Every Day Count

Your days on this earth are numbered. When it is all said and done, what are the dashes between the dates on your gravestone going to stand for? Did you make this world a better place while you were here? Did you add value or where you just a taker? These are questions that all of us need to meditate on. It is sad that most people go to the grave with the music still playing in their head. Go out there and make your dreams happen. Get over yourself and push past the things that are holding you back. Your life is worth it, your family deserves it and so do you. As Nike once said, “Just Do It!”
