RIL expected to bid for upcoming mega power plant in Chhattisgarh and Orissa
Reliance Industries, India’s biggest company by market value, plans to build at least one power plant in the country marking the oil company’s entry into commercial electricity generation, two company officials said.
The Mumbai-based refiner and energy explorer is considering bidding for a 4,000-megawatt coal-fired plant in eastern India that may cost as much as Rs 16,000 crore ($3.4 billion ), according to officials briefed on the plan, who declined to be identified before a decision is taken. One megawatt is enough to power about 200 middle-class homes in India.
India’s government has invited bids for a 4,000-mw project in Chhattisgarh by July 5 and another in adjoining Orissa by July 30. Reliance may seek to build the Chhattisgarh plant, one of the officials said on Wednesday. A company spokesman didn’t reply to an e-mail seeking comments.
Reliance’s plan to start power generation follows a June 11 decision to buy a wireless Internet services company for $1 billion as it seeks to expand beyond refining oil, making chemicals and natural gas production. The diversification became possible after billionaire chairman Mukesh Ambani ended a non-compete agreement with his brother Anil Ambani on May 23.
“Power is a natural area of diversification for Reliance after the no-compete agreement ended,” said Apurva Shah, head of research at Prabhudas Lilladher, Mumbai. “They have the skills to execute large projects and the money to fund it.”
The operator of the world’s biggest refining complex and India’s largest natural gas field had outstanding debt of about Rs 62,500 crore ($13.4 billion) and cash and equivalents of Rs 21,870 crore as of March 31, the company said in April. Reliance is in talks with banks to borrow $1 billion, two people with direct knowledge of the matter said on June 4.
The world’s richest brothers split India’s second-biggest business empire five years ago after their father died in 2002 without leaving a will and squabbled as their business interests collided. Under the 2005 agreement, Mukesh, 53, kept the petrochemicals, oil and gas units and Anil, 50, got the power, financial services, telecommunications, and entertainment units.
Reliance Power, a company run by Anil Ambani won three of India’s four so called ultramega-power projects, of 4,000mw each, auctioned by the government so far. The government plans to bar companies from bidding to build more than three such power plants at a time to ensure their timely completion, HS Brahma, then power secretary, had stated on January 15. The government proposes to build nine such plants to help almost double the country’s installed generation capacity in the next seven years.
Reliance Industries fell 0.8% to close at Rs 1,057.95 in Mumbai trading, its first decline in six days. The shares have lost 1.3% in the past year compared with a 17% increase in the benchmark Sensitive Index of BSE.

Custom Foam Shipping Case Inserts – The Best Way to Protect Your Equipment
Tuesday, November 29th, 2011
There are hundreds of case manufacturers providing numerous styles of shipping cases in various sizes and dimensions. Most of these case companies offer foam inserts. Some are layered foam that is cubed and some are solid layered foam. Most would like you to believe that their cube foam is an easy way to create your custom like foam insert.
If you’ve ever used cubed foam or tried to cut and assemble your own custom foam insert you will have to agree that the only real way to make sure your equipment is protected is to have a professional design and cut your custom foam insert specifically for the item you want protected and here’s why.
Most cube foam inserts are cut from 3 or 4 inch thick foam pieces. In a typical 15″ case base there would be 3 – 4″ thick pieces and 1 – 3″ thick layer of cubed foam. When you create your cavities in the initial 4″ layer that works great as long as your item is 4″ thick or less. What happens if one of your items is, say, 6″ thick. Now the pick and pluck foam method becomes troublesome.
Another problem with cube foam is that as your items are pulled out of their cavities and pushed back into their cavities over and over again, the cube foam tends to degrade. Frequent pulling and pushing in and out of the cubed foam cavities causes them to start to degenerate in to small pieces and sections of the foam tend to break off. Now the case becomes filled with pick and pluck foam pieces rather than the custom cavities you were hoping for when you purchased the case.
By having a custom foam insert cut you don’t have to worry about that flaking because the cavity was created by cuting a single solid piece of foam. Also, because custom foam inserts begin as huge foam blocks you don’t have to worry about how thick layers are because not only is the horizontal dimension accurate but the vertical dimension can be cut to any height required.
In all ways a custom foam insert is worth the small additional money from the beginning. Even though pick and pluck (cubed) foam is less expensive in the beginning, by the time you replace it a couple of times before realizing that you should have had custom foam made to begin with, custom foam ends up being less costly if invested in from the beginning.
All things considered a custom foam insert is the best protection for the expensive contents of your shipping cases.

Become an Entrepreneur and Solve Your Financial Instability
Monday, November 28th, 2011
One of today’s headlines from the The Toronto Star’s Emily Mathieu is ‘Canadians precariously close to financial instability, study finds’.
The article discusses the fact that 60% of Canadians are living paycheque to paycheque and are so far in debt that if they miss just one weekly or bi-weekly pay, they may just face financial ruin. It goes on to say that if you take the total amount of debt that Canadians have and average it out across the population, the average Canadian has $42,000 in debt!
These numbers are scary and are pointing to the growing trend of wanting more and over-extending ourselves financially for the sake of owning the latest and greatest electronic toy. Moreover, our 9-5 jobs just aren’t cutting it anymore when it comes to allowing us to purchase what we want AND save money. As a result, many Canadians are, as the article says, “precariously close to financial instability’.
There is nothing wrong with wanting more, but our income needs to allow us to do that without the risk of falling so heavily into debt. What Affiliates Want! – 5 Key Things Which Merchants Must Provide To Their Affiliates
Sunday, November 27th, 2011
High quality affiliates and web masters are now very discerning and fussy about the websites and products they get affiliated to. These top quality ‘super’ affiliates can significantly publicize the merchant’s website, create a flood of traffic to the website and generate a lot of sales for the merchant. It is therefore logical that many affiliate program owners pay particular attention to what affiliates want and provide them just that and more, otherwise they will leave your program and join your competitors and drive traffic to your competitor!
Although building an affiliate network appear to be an easy and low-cost way to generate sales, in reality, more attention to the details of the affiliate program is important if you want affiliates to sign up and advance to become your super affiliates who generate loads of sales for you. The key to recruit and retain affiliates who will explode your sales is to have an affiliate program that gives affiliates what they want so that they are highly motivated to generate many sales and increase your profits as well as earn large affiliate checks themselves!
Here go the important essentials that affiliates want from an affiliate program.
1. A high quality product, a professional well-laid-out website that converts and a company with good reputation and ethical business practices. Affiliates want to promote first-rate products or services which they can be proud to be associated with and can recommend to their lists and prospects. Affiliates invest their money time and money to drive traffic to the merchant’s website. It is therefore very important that the merchant’s website and sales copy converts well. Affiliates with good websites work hard to keep their content unique and fresh so they can draw visitors, and they want the merchant’s website where they will drive some of their traffic to be worthwhile with appealing products or services. Affiliates want to be associated with a reliable company that will provide or deliver the products purchased by the buyers and pay its affiliates their commissions.
2. An attractive payment structure, residual commissions, punctual payments and payment options. Your affiliates are in business as much as you the merchant are in business. After they have done their work and bring in sales, reward them generously and quickly! There are many payment structures and options which your affiliate program can use. Payments per click, paying a fixed amount per sale, or paying a specified percentage of the sale are some of the options you can choose from. Make sure that the payment structure you use is suitable to the products you are selling so that you make it worthwhile and appealing from the affiliate’s point of view. The main attraction of affiliate marketing is the opportunity to earn passive residual income. To make your affiliate program even more attractive, try to provide some form of residual commissions. Having an online business means that you will have affiliates from many parts of the world. You the merchant must ensure that you provide payment options that can suit all your affiliates. Be generous and remember that if it were not for your affiliates, it would take you a lot of time, effort and money to bring in so many sales which your affiliates bring.
3. Promotional materials. Your affiliate program is your main promotional tool and you must invest in it by providing all the necessary promotional tools which your affiliates will use to bring in sales. Some of the marketing tools that you must consider providing are banners, codes, PLR articles, solo ads, classified ads and many others. All your affiliates will need to do is to personalize and customize these, and they are ready to drive traffic to the merchant’s site!
4. Accurate tracking and reporting of the affiliate sales statistics. This is very important because affiliates don’t want to feel cheated out of their efforts, and they want to keep a close look at their commission earnings as well as assess if their advertising efforts are brining in the results they want. Many affiliates are savvy internet marketers, and they know that most people whom they direct to the merchant’s website do not purchase immediately. Many people will buy the product or service after it has been advertised to them several times. A merchant must therefore have a good cookie tracking device so that affiliates are rewarded accordingly.
5. Affiliates also want true partnership and communication. It is important for the merchant to regularly communicate with his or her affiliates. If there are any problems, let your affiliate know as soon as possible. If your affiliates have questions, answer them promptly. If you take your affiliate program seriously, it is worthwhile to have a newsletter where you can keep in touch with all your affiliates on a regular basis. Use the newsletter to announce any up-coming products or special offers as well as motivate them. Ask your affiliates about what they would like to have from you the merchant so that they can bring many sales!
Prospective affiliates know what they want, as discussed in this article, and they will expect these from an affiliate program. Provide your affiliates with what they want – and they will happily bring what you the merchant wants – more sales!

Make Your Own Fortune On The Web
Saturday, November 26th, 2011
Some online businesses require a small investment for equipment, while others demand an arm and a leg to get started. Some might make you rich, while others might provide just enough money to cover your cell phone bill. All businesses require various amounts of time, money and internet knowledge to get started.
I have spent more time than anything, doing research on the best online opportunities on the internet. I am very picky about what I spend my money on and I am sure you would not want to waste your hard-earned money on something that does not live up to it’s promises. Why would anyone want to do that especially in these recessionary times!
You can start making money right away, It is just not going to be a huge amount of money over night. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as getting rich quick. Trust me, if there was a way to become a millionaire overnight or even in one month, I would have been a millionaire already.
Becoming a millionaire takes a lot of work unless you are lucky enough to win the lottery. Most of us are not that lucky so chances are, we will have to work for our millions. We have to work hard for anything that is worth it in life. If you do not have work for it, chances are it’s not worth it, and you probably would not feel any sense of achievement or appreciation for it.
It takes a lot of time as well as work to build any business. I have researched all of the most popular money making opportunities online and have weeded out the best of the best. I have spent hours, days, weeks and months just researching different opportunities online. I wish all programs could teach you how to make money easily so I would not have spent so much time researching and more time making money!

Starting an ebay business – 3 vital steps to getting started successfully.

Starting an ebay business – 3 vital steps to getting started successfully.
One of my online businesses is ebay so I aim to show you here how to avoid the mistakes I made when starting an ebay business. Here are 3 crucial steps that will help you get off to a good start.
1. Research what to sell
2. Decide whether to open an ebay shop
3. Find the best source for the product you want to sell.
Starting an ebay business – what to sell?
Many people think that starting an ebay business & selling on ebay just involves getting rid of junk from their loft or garage. In actual fact people sell pretty much everything on ebay – from DVD’s and Music to Shoes, Clothes, Jewelry of all kinds, Sports Equipment, Tickets, Toys and much, much more.
Some people make a full-time income on ebay, in some cases 5-figures a month…
There are currently 37 different catagories of products on ebay and within each of those, there are any number of sub-categories!
Its not always the best idea to try and compete with the big sellers for best selling items on ebay. You need to find a niche which will enable you to be a big fish in that small pond, rather than trying to be a big fish in a sea full of sharks!
The way to find a niche is to click on one of the 37 categories halfway down the left-hand side of ebay’s home page. For example click on Pet Supplies and you will be led through to 9 sub-categories. Click on one of those such as Apparel. This leads through to yet more sub-categories. One of these is Bandanas (bizarrely!). This is a niche product.
You now need to see how well they sell. Click on ‘completed listings’ and you can study which type sells the best, which fetch the highest prices and how much ebay competition there is for that product. Doing this kind of research before you make a firm decision about what to sell is invaluable. The last thing you want to do is invest in a load of stock before you have studied whether there is a demand for it. It’s a good idea to start with categories that tie in with your interests, as you will be more knowledgeable and enthusiastic about that.
Starting an ebay business – Open an Ebay shop or not?
If you want to sell more than a handful of products it can be very cost-effective to open an ebay shop as you can place hundreds of items in there much more cheaply than putting them all into auctions. You can also create a brand and identity for yourself which means you will get customer loyalty and repeat business.
Where to find items to sell.
You can choose from making things, finding things at places like car boot sales, using a wholesaler, using an online wholesale catalog or buying at wholesale on ebay itself. Again, this is a vital step because the better the wholesale price the more your profit could be. This can really add up if you are selling 100′s or 1000′s of items a month!

How To Really Make Money Online With Your Home Business
Thursday, November 24th, 2011
You will have read no doubt of many ways to make a ton of money online and in this article I explain why you should ignore all the grandiose claims and concentrate on the single, most effective to make a fortune online.
If you have spent any time online in the internet marketing area and if you have visited forums such as the Warrior’s Forum you will no doubt have read of claims for various methods to make a fortune and a ton of money by the middle of next month.
Schemes with absurd claims are backed up with “testimonials” and powerful sales letters to persuade you that the latest “under the radar” scheme has somehow managed to fast track the process and guarantee you page 1 Google rankings and visitors.
A small bit of critical analysis and scepticism will lead you to conclude that most of these hare brained schemes are just a lot of hot air. The truth is that to really succeed online you will need to provide value to your visitors in whatever niche you occupy.
This involves giving your visitors what they are looking for in the form of good content, solutions to their problems at prices they are willing to pay. It will involve the mundane task of writing original content in your articles and on your blog which will genuinely inform and advise your reader/visitor.
You will need to build a relationship with your visitors and build trust and prove your integrity. You need to recognise that there are no silver bullets or fast tracks to instant riches online. But if your business is built on the genuine foundations of providing solutions to problems for your readers, and if you demonstrate over time that you provide great value in terms of content or freebies, then and only then will you be in a position to leverage your relationship and make sales.
This is not a fast process although you can speed up the process by astute outsourcing if you have the capital but you must make relationship building and a genuine desire to help your visitors a cornerstone of your online business.
Your visitors will thank you in the form of sales and many people have very acute antennae when it comes to garbage. In conclusion to make a fortune online you need to recoginse that there are no silver bullets, that you must provide genuine solutions to people’ s problems in whatever niche you occupy and you need to build a long term relationship with your readers.

Why being the "bread winner" doesn’t mean you win anything.
Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011
FRANK KERN IS KNOWN FOR BEING STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. He tells it like it is, and in my regard is doing us all a favour. If you don’t know who Frank Kern is, back up two steps and meet me on the other side.
This article isn’t about Frank Kern but he has spoken about a topic that has relevance here. He talks about people having two versions of themselves. The Shell identity (as in Bob the Builder) and the Core Identity (as in Bob the rock star)
We have all been “educated” (more like programmed) to believe that the way to the top is by climbing the corporate ladder. This, like Santa Clause, has been proven to be false.
We have also been taught that the man in the relationship should be the “bread winner” (there’s my title cleverly thrown in:). When one is winning the bread that merely means you are making enough money to avoid starving. This isn’t winning.
I believe that we can be of no value to others if we haven’t identified who we are and what we want out of life. We cannot go through life pretending to “give” of ourselves when we haven’t learnt to “be” ourselves.
So instead of spending your days being Bob the Builder, start focusing on how Bob can become the rock star.
Here is one question Frank Kern (and me) says will change your life forever…
“If There Were No Limitations Or Consequences, What Would Your Average Perfect Day Look Like?”
By limitations he means financial, geographic, health etc. By consequences he means stuff that you could get “into trouble” for. And by Average he means you could do all this stuff every day and not die or get sick of it.
Answer this question honestly. Write it down and stick it where you can see it every day. Then do everything in your power to make it a reality.
I answered this question a few years back and from the mere act of writing it down started attracting the reality of it to me.
Why continue to go through your limited days here on earth doing something you don’t love? You’re not getting a second chance.
